Living in the Internet age, many of us have a sedentary life style, which leads to numerous health problems. There has been a lot of media coverage emphasising that we should all partake regular physical exercise at least two times a week “{muscle-strengthening activities on 2 or more days a week that work all major muscle groups (legs, hips, back, abdomen, chest, shoulders and arms)}” NHS Choices.

Pilates works on the principle that a strong core helps support the rest of the body, it also alleviates tight muscles, stiff/aching joints and prevents back pain. Pilates helps to strengthen the core muscles and improve posture, balance and co-ordination which is vital in our daily lives. Pilates routines focus on these as well as increasing body awareness and improved breathing.
